Conversion

One of the important factors to consider when purchasing a Right Hand Drive re-engineered vehicle is the company undertaking the conversion process.

We choose only the best in Australia to do our RHD Conversions. US AUTOS Sydney were chosen due to their 30 plus years of Right Hand Drive re-engineering expertise, along with the fact that they are an Australian owned and operated company operating out of Sydney as opposed to an overseas converter operating out of the Philippines or Sri Lanka as some other companies choose to use and are the only RHD re-engineering company in NSW.

Some of the features of the RHD re-engineering process that we use, which is not found in all other RHD conversions include:

F150:

  • Premium Right Hand Drive electric steering rack custom built and fitted to each vehicle that connects the steering column directly to the new RHD rack and pinion assembly
  • Dash tops are leatherette covered, soft touch padded, factory style, along with factory style stitching as per factory
  • OEM plastic injected dashboard as opposed to a fibreglass fabricated dashboard
  • 240V dashboard power outlet on the F150 dashboard as opposed to the US 110V as per what the factory would do
  • Side demist outlets function, as opposed to having them blocked off, as per what the factory would do
  • Air flow ducting to the rear of the centre console (if factory equipped) is retained, not blocked off as per what the factory would do
  • Upper and Lower gloveboxes are OEM size as opposed to making them smaller due to the RHD conversion
  • The passenger side factory ‘alcove’ storage area between the upper and lower gloveboxes is retained, not replaced with a solid piece and the storage area deleted
  • New factory centre left panels installed, as opposed to the original LHD panels being plastic welded for moving the trailer reverse guidance knob (prone to cracking) and the trailer brake control, as per what the factory would do
  • The Advanced Braking LED warning light (if factory equipped) is moved from the top Left Hand side of the dash board to the drivers Right Hand side, as per what the factory would do
  • The RAPTOR model retains the Carbon-Fibre dash upgrade during the RHD re-engineering process (if optioned on the vehicle from factory)
  • Right Hand Drive Dash cover protection for the Australian climate included free of charge
  • Centre stick shifter retains the ‘PRND’ indicator on the driver’s side of the gear shifted instead of deleting it
  • Drivers side Memory seat functions and memory seat motors (if factory equipped with memory seats) are re-positioned to the new Right Hand side drivers position
  • Dynamat Xtreme Sound Deadening is additionally installed on the cabin side of the firewall, to lower the interior noise better than what the factory offers
  • Cabin filter is serviceable from the engine bay instead of being deleted as other RHD conversions do
  • Left Hand Exterior door keypad moved to the Right Hand side door and the Left Hand Exterior door panel looks factory, as opposed to having the keyhole ‘plugged’ or a second keypad left there
  • The whole external Left Hand mirror assembly is repositioned to suit a Right Hand Side driver, not simply cranked around and re-pinned. Mirrors still fold in as per factory, are not solidly fixed
  • The wiper arms have been relocated to sweep in a mirror opposite sweep, with no modification to the electric motor that drives it, as per what the factory would do
  • The engine bay fuse box and logic centre is kept in the factory position, no wiring is modified, not moved to the passenger side nor extensive wiring modified
  • A new ‘fast flash’ rear indicator module is installed to run the rear indicators and 7 pin plug indicators, not re-wired with relays and resistors which do not retain the ‘fast flash’ ADR requirement feature
  • Towbar (hitch) is rated to tow the maximum 4.5 Tonnes (not 3.5 or 4 Tonnes)
  • Exclusive Australian mapping (if SatNav equipped from the factory) is standard on our F150 through the SYNC3 or SYNC4 system free of charge as per what the factory would do
  • A complete check of the vehicle electrical and electronic functions before the RHD re-engineering and again before delivery is undertaken using the latest Ford factory ‘VCM 3’ diagnostic system which includes another custom test machine to test the electric trailer brake system for peace of mind
  • The Right Hand Drive re-engineering is carried out to ISO standards

RAM 1500 DT:

  • Premium Right Hand Drive electric steering rack custom built and fitted to each vehicle, no right angle boxes and no additional shaft and uni-joints under the dash board, steering column connects directly to the rack, as per what the factory would do
  • The brake system is relocated to the RHD side, no cross-shafts or linkages under the dash board to connect this, it is as per what the factory would do
  • The wiper arms have been relocated to sweep in a mirror opposite sweep, with no modification to the electric motor that drives it, and includes new Right hand Drive wiper arms, as per what the factory would do
  • OEM plastic injected dashboard as opposed to a ‘cut and shut’ cut up dashboard that is plastic welded back together
  • Dash tops are soft touch padded, factory style, along with factory style stitching
  • The RHD dash board top is a new RHD one piece part, not the factory dash top part ‘cut and shut’ and plastic welded back together
  • Air flow ducting to the rear of the centre console (if factory equipped) is retained, not blocked off
  • Drivers side Memory seat functions and memory seat motors (if factory equipped with memory seats) are re-positioned to the new Right Hand side drivers position
  • Chrome surround retained on both of the front door window switches, not just one switch
  • Cabin filter is serviceable from the engine bay instead of being deleted as other RHD conversions do
  • Dynamat Xtreme Sound Deadening is additionally installed on the cabin side of the firewall, to lower the interior noise better than what the factory offers
  • The whole external Left Hand mirror assembly is repositioned to suit a Right Hand Side driver, not simply cranked around and re-pinned. Mirrors still fold in as per factory, are not solidly fixed
  • GVM Upgraded to 3500kgs & payload Upgraded to 1.114 Tonnes* (Exclusive to US AUTOS Sydney) * Model dependant Towbar (hitch) is rated to tow the maximum 4.5 Tonnes (not 3.5 or 4 Tonnes)
  • A complete check of the vehicles electrical and electronic functions before the RHD re-engineering and again before delivery is undertaken using the latest Chrysler/RAM factory ‘wiTECH 2’ diagnostic system which includes another custom test machine to test the electric trailer brake system for peace of mind
  • The Right Hand Drive re-engineering is carried out to ISO standards

We provide a 12 month Warranty on all conversions, along with a 3 Year/Unlimited Km Australia-Wide Warranty on the Truck. There are three different levels of the vehicle Warranty available so please discuss your specific needs with your Sales Consultant when enquiring on the vehicle.
